Microtunneling

  • ​IFG specialized in installation of pipelines and sleeves for sewerage, potable water, storm drainage, district cooling & various cables.

  • ​Driven tunnels of diameter 3.0m over a distance of 640m, along with shafts up to 56.0m deep, completed safely with highest standards.​

  • IFG has successfully installed more than 40Km of such services by micro-tunneling.​

Dubai International Airport Expansion – Phase 3

In one of our most challenging and high-profile projects, we upgraded the stormwater drainage system at Dubai International Airport (DIA), Terminal 2. This project involved the construction of 2,200 meters of 3,025 mm O.D. stormwater pipeline at depths ranging from 13 to 15 meters, all beneath live aircraft taxiways at one of the busiest airports in the world.

  • Project Highlights:

    • Successfully completed three drives: 610 meters, 765 meters, and 825 meters.

    • Utilized a 3,025 mm diameter tunnel boring machine (TBM) from Herrenknecht.

    • Achieved exceptional progress with the installation of 10 pipes, each 3.0 meters long, in just two shifts over 24 hours.

    • Average progress of 15 meters per day on the 825-meter line, completed in 55 days.
